The sun is back, and so is our excuse for ice cream! We bring you our Top Regional Ice Creams that are whipping up a tasty storm across the UK!

South-West, Isle of Wight
Minghella’s is an ice cream creator with a difference. Not only do they use all locally sourced milk and other fresh ingedients from the Isle of Wight, their ice cream is made without using a single drop of water!
They have whipped up over 200 flavours for you to enjoy, all of which are suitable for vegetarians and are almost all gluten free.
From Allspice Spicecream that infuses a variety of fruit flavours, to their Gold Taste winning English Toffee & cocktail sorbet range for you Muddy adults their really is a flavour for all tastes! Minghella’s is a wonderfully sustainable ice cream creator, and with countless awards to their name they are definitely worth the venture.
Treleavans have been producing their ice cream and sorbet ranges using old traditional methods for the past 15 years. Most of their process are carried out by hand using milk from the local Trewithen Dairy and beautifully topped with locally sourced berries, fruit & honey.
They stock over 90 different flavours & as produced mainly by hand they boast a unique taste and texture compared to machine-made ice cream, giving them their identifiable luxurious density. Having won countless awards and catering to diabetic customers, this Cornish ice cream is a real decadent delight.
This is an ice cream shop with a difference. Boho Gelato is part of Fareshare, a food waste company who transforms food waste items such as biscuits, syrups and fruit juices into their ice cream!
To top this marvellous sustainability off they also use a range of ingredients from other restaurants around Brighton to make their unique flavours including sea salt caramel and white choc honey comb.
All the dairy ice cream created by Ruby Violets is handmade in small batches, using seasonal fruit prepared daily on the premises! The ice creams are created using organic milk, free range eggs and British or fair trade sugar & artificial preservatives are used. In the summer the mint, rhubarb, apples & honey are all sourced from within a few miles of their North London store. Blackberries and damsons come from owner Julie’s home village of Flintham in Nottinghamshire.
Another brilliantly unique & environmentally conscious USP of Ruby Violets is that their serving containers are biodegradable and compostable.. and they also recycle their spoons!
They also cater to weddings and parties serving amazing individual chocolate cups, baked alaska’s, cakes and ice cream bombs….
Aplins Farm in Devon in the scenic Otter Valley and Blackdown Hills is home to Otter Valley Dairy. Their ice cream is specially made in small batches and based around Italian Gelato using milk from their own dairy herd.
Their quirky extensive flavour range includes strawberry and balsamic ice cream, and ginger and butternut squash! They also cater to us more ‘normal folk’ with their ever popular toffee fudge salted caramel and white chocolate raspberry being at the top of our lost.
This family run business is now in its fourth generation and has been on the receiving end of many awards over the years including Taste of the West 2012, 2011 and 2010. They pride themselves on their past three generations working together, and have truly created some magnificent ice creams.
Caroline’s Dairy is a homemade ice cream range based in Chalders Farm. Their award-winning luxury ice cream is hand-made in small batches using only the milk from our dairy herd. Their wonderful dairy team combine this with the best natural ingredients and locally produced fruit to ensure there is something to tickle all taste buds!
Their ice creams have won countless awards, and have even received just as many diplomas for their success’s in creating flavours!
Their Double Dairy Ice Cream is a beautifully luxuriously thick ice cream and winner of the National Ice Cream Competition awarded a Special Diploma of Merit. Their White Mint Chocolate Chip also won a National Ice Cream Competition awarded a Diploma and their ‘utterly irresistible’ Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream won melted National Ice Cream Competition and received a Special Diploma of Merit and 1 Star in The Great Taste Awards!
With their award accolition and amazingly luxurious ice cream, they are one of our top choices for ice cream this summer!
Judes Ice Cream
A few years back one man decided to follow his dream. With an empty barn, a churn and the help of some local cows,
he set out to create the world’s tastiest ice cream. Dishing out his ice cream to neighbours and people in the local village and pubs, his popularity began to soar striaght away. with this encouragement his whole family got involved, and Judes Ice Cream was born!
They create their ice cream using milk from the local Matterly Farm cows and only British eggs. They then source their ingredients from all around the globe, from Madigascan Vanilla to local Hampshire mint or Essex sea salt.
Handmade by Hadleys
Handmade by Hadleys began making ice cream at their family farm in the Colne Valley of Essex in 2001 and began as a way to make some good use of the herd of pedigree Holstein cows.
From Gold Taste Award winning Dark Chocolate ice cream and Elderflower and Lime ice cream, to their quirkier flavourings of Scarlett Mustard Passion Fruit Curd, there is an interesting and delicious flavour available for all!
