The Halloween excitement is building! What better way to combine outdoor fun and Halloween than to head out pumpkin picking with your little explorers? Luckily, most patches are now open but booking is essential to make sure you and your little explorers don’t miss out this autumn.

1) Windmill Animal Farm, Ormskirk, Lancashire
From 8th to 30th October
Windmill Animal Farm is ideal for younger children to visit before Halloween. With twenty thousand pumpkins to choose from, your little monsters will surely find the perfect Halloween pumpkin. After picking, explore the animal farm or have a go at the Maize maze.
2) Undley Farm Events, Beck Row, Suffolk
Open weekends and half term in October
This fantastic farm offers the chance for you and your little ones to pick your pumpkin of choice direct from the vine. The fleet of wheelbarrows will be waiting for all the little pumpkin pickers to help them transport their pickings. Don’t miss the other fun attractions such as the Maize Maze, straw bale pyramid, pumpkin carving demonstrations and if you spot the golden pumpkin, you can win your wheelbarrow full of pumpkins and gourds for free!
3) Pumpkin Pete’s, Ledbury
8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, and every day from 23rd – 29th October
Pumpkin Pete’s is a fourth generation, family run farm near Ledbury, Herefordshire. Head there with the family and stock up on pumpkins to take home and carve in time for Halloween.
4) Piglets Adventure Farm, Towthorpe Grange, York
8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, and every day from 22nd – 30th October

6) Foxes Farm Produce, Essex (Aldham or Basildon)
Every weekend in October from 24th September and every day from 17th – 31st October
With thousands of pumpkins growing in the patch, your little pumpkin pickers will surely find THE perfect Halloween pumpkin. Make sure to put on your wellies as it can get very muddy and bring the whole family to have some pre-Halloween fun.
7) Crockford Bridge Farm, Surrey
Pumpkin picking first two weeks of October only, 1st – 13th October
You can pick your own pumpkin on the first two weekends of October or head over to The Pumpkin Market (open from 2nd October) to choose from hundreds of pre-picked pumpkins ready to take away. During the last week of October, the Pumpkin Festival is in full swing – try your luck at the Pumpkin Shy plus lots of other games on site and enjoy refreshments at the tea shack and other street food stalls.
8) National Forest Adventure Farm, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire
15th and 16th, and 22nd-30th October
Hop aboard the pumpkin wagon tractor at National Forest Adventure Farm and pick up a free pumpkin for your children. After finding the perfect pumpkin you can have a go at broomstick training, meet and feed the animals and explore the huge adventure play area.
9) Strawberry Fields, Lifton, Devon

10) Cairnie Fruit Farm, Fife, Scotland
8th – 31st October

11) Trentham Hall, Staffordshire
14th – 31st October
For the first time, Trentham will be launching its own Enchanted Pumpkin Patch for 2022. Nestled amongst the autumnal colours of the award-winning Italian Gardens, with Trentham Hall as it’s breath-taking backdrop, visitors with be able to get the perfect social media moment to show off their pumpkins.
