CHRISTMAS CRAFT 1 – POTPOURRI MAKING
Bring the scent of Christmas into your home with this Christmas potpourri – and have fun combining and stirring the ingredients and experimenting with the smells in the process!
- Star Anise
- Cinnamon sticks
- Pine cones
- (Cellophane bag)
Cut the orange into slices. Arrange on a baking tray and place in the oven on the lowest setting for approximately 4 hours until they are completely dried out. When the orange is cool, mix some slices with some pinecones, a small handful of star anise and 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks cut in half. If giving as a gift, fill a cellophane bag, arranging the slices of orange around the edges, and tie the bag with some beautiful festive red ribbon.
CHRISTMAS CRAFT 2 – STAR MAKING
Make a natural Christmas decoration from all natural materials, and decorate away this Christmas!
- Christmas wool
Select 5 similar size sticks. Arrange your sticks into a star shape. Simply tie the intersections together with wool and add an extra piece of wool at the top to hang. Wrap your string in wool, use glue and glitter to paint and decorate your star in Christmas themed patterns! Hang your star and enjoy Christmas!
CHRISTMAS CRAFT 3 – MAKE A BIRD FEEDER
This is a lovely activity and it’s very simple. Birds in the winter need as much help as possible, and this is a wonderful way to encourage birds to your garden!
- Pine Cones
- Bird seeds
- Wool or thread
- Mixing bowl
Attach some wool to the top of your pine cone. Tie your wool in a knot around the top, leaving the two ends free to tie to a tree branch. Take out your bowl and mix your lard and bird seeds together. Using fingers or dough tools smear the pine cone with lard, getting into and behind all the seeds. Wrap in a brown bag and take away!
We hope these resources will help make your fundraising efforts an even bigger success than we already know they’ll be!
