Your little ones will have lots of space to run free and build sand castles (there are large sandpits available). You can also try family kayaking or paddle boards and spend a wonderful and active day outdoors. There are lifeguards on site, so you and your gang will be in safe hands all day long. Don’t worry if you forget your bucket and spade – you can buy all the summer essentials in the beach shop. Known for it’s surfing, Polzeath Beach is a great place to come for a family day out. Be sure to time your visit well by looking at the tide times as at low tide, the sand extends around half a mile in both directions where as when the tide comes in there’s hardly any beach at all. Don’t forget wellies for exploring the rock pools.
This lovely sandy beach is one of the nicest on the South Coast. With lots of fine, gold sand around, it calls for sand castles and sand pies. All the facilities you may need are close to the beach and there’s a play area for children, a barbecue area and even crazy golf courses to make your family day out even more exciting.
Voted as the best place to picnic in Scotland in 2019, Yellowcraig Beach is the perfect day out for mini pirate adventurers as it was reportedly the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. There’s even an RSPB nature reserve which is home to a huge variety of seabirds so remember to bring your camera when you visit.
If an afternoon of family time spent on the beach is what you want, head to Brighton. Brighton beach is perfect for a fast-paced and adrenaline-filled family trip. The iconic Brighton Pier, which opened in 1899, is the place to be.
This quiet, clean, sandy beach is perfect for a family day out with your little ones. It’s also a paradise for the shell collectors. And remember to take a ride on the Beach Train – we’re sure your children will love it! There are lots of places to eat, have a cuppa or an ice cream too.
