10 Best Family-Friendly Festivals 2024

We have taken the hard work of trudging through the many festivals taking place this year and have whittled them down into a main line up for you!

Here are 8 of our favourite family-friendly festivals to go to with your children this year. All information and prices correct at the time of writing but please remember to check the individual websites for further updates in case of changes.

1) Camp Bestival, Lulworth Castle, Dorset (25-28 July) & Weston Park, Shropshire (15-18 August)

Hailed as the family-friendly festival of choice by families all across the UK, Camp Bestival prides itself on ensuring that it's equally geared towards and suited for both parents and children. A recent winner of the Pure Fun award at the Family Traveller Awards, there is plenty to keep the family entertained. Activities include wild workshops at the Dingly Dell, Cosmic Kids Yoga, a soft play tent and a roller disco.

2) Latitude Festival, Henham Park, Suffolk (25-28 July)

Latitude is among the biggest of the family-friendly festivals with a huge array of activities available for children and parents alike. When purchasing a family weekend ticket you will automatically be placed in the Family Campsite which is just a stones throw from the Enchanted Garden area which features a busy programme of activities for the family. As well as a stellar line-up of acts including Duran Duran, Kasabian and Keane, the musical acts alone are enough to draw any music lover to the wonderful lakeside location. To add to the acts there is a huge focus on the arts with a packed theatre schedule ranging from comedy and theatre performed on hidden woodland stages, to as many gourmet food stalls as one can imagine.

3) Just So Festival, Rode Hall, Cheshire (16/17/18 August)

Only one word can describe this festival - fun! The eccentric, family friendly, majestic, mad, interactive, wonderful world of Just So Festival is enough to catch any punter's attention. An 'imaginative outdoor family adventure like no other' is how they describe it, set within the beautiful Rode Hall location. With a spellbinding line up of circus shows and workshops, theatre performances and classes, huge puppets and decorations adorning the land, this festival is what dreams are made of.

4) Gone Wild, Holkham Hall, Norfolk (8-11 August) & Powderham Castle, Devon (22-25 August)

Co-founded by Bear Grylls, and former Royal Marines Officer Oli Mason, Go Wild festival provides action-packed adventures, rewilding and live music over four days, delivering incredible experiences with over 100 activities included. This is a very family friendly festival that focuses on Adventure, education and music for all ages. There are inspirational talks from adventurers and experts, live music and headliners and the BMX ramp to watch for hours.

5) The Big Feastival,  Alex James' Farm, The Cotswolds (23-25 August)

The Big Feastival is perfect for families, bringing together music and an array of Michelin star chefs live on stage. There's plenty of wild workshops, theatre shows, a circus school and the chance to meet some furry and feathered friends at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park. Don't miss the Hidden Hollow for den building, bushcraft workshops and more.

6) Starry Village, Kentchurch Estate, Herefordshire (25-28 July)

Starry Village (formerly known as Starry Skies) is a village-style, family camping retreat, from the team behind Shambala Festival, packed with activities, workshops, performances and live music. 7) Timber,  Feanedock, The National Forest, Midlands (5/6/7 July)

Timber is the perfect festival for nature lovers. Gather with artists and musicians to re-think your and your family's relationship with nature. Take part in an array of workshops, join in with the forest school activities or try your hand at fabric painting.

8) Deer Shed Festival,  Baldersby Park, North Yorkshire (26-29 July)

Deer Shed is a three-day wonderland of music, arts, science and sport, set in beautiful North Yorkshire parkland. Choose from forest bathing, a circus masterclass, soft play and baby massage - there's plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
