The UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive has been law since July 2007. The regulations mean that internet retailers, like Muddy Puddles selling this kind of equipment must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge. The legislation aims to make producers pay for disposing of waste electrical equipment safely and prevent it going to landfill sites.
Muddy Puddles supports this legislation and offers our customers free return of their WEEE products when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
If you make a purchase of an electrical or electronic item on our website you are entitled to return an old product of the same nature to us for safe disposal. Please return proof of your online purchase with your return. Please note that the WEEE item must be returned within 28 days of purchasing the new item.
When returning an electrical item to Muddy Puddles please ensure all batteries are removed beforehand and disposed of in an appropriate licenced reprocessing facility. Your local authority will direct you accordingly.

for the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the packaging, or on the item itself.
If the symbol appears on the replacement item, this is also an indication that the old model should be recycled.
